Who should install ThermalBoard™?

ThermalBoard™ is typically installed by the general contractor, but can be installed by homeowners with proper tools and basic carpentry skills. A licensed radiant floor heating mechanical or plumbing contractor should install the heat source, distribution piping, pumps, controls, etc. Follow all local and state codes for permitting and installation.

What kind of radiant tubing should I use?

When is ThermalBoard™ installed?

ThermalBoard™ is typically installed just prior to the installation of finished flooring goods. Store ThermalBoard™ on the job site in a dry, cool space and it is ready to be installed with delays, in the natural progression of construction.

Can all flooring goods be used over ThermalBoard™?

Yes. Consult the ThermalBoard™ manual for the details regarding the application of flooring goods.

Does ThermalBoard™ outgas formaldehyde?

ThermalBoard™ Sustainable Substrate. No VOC. Zero formaldehyde.
The substrate is constructed from 92% pre-consumer recycled content and meets LEED® v4 Criteria, with zero formaldehyde and no VOCs. Additionally, ThermalBoard™ is laminated with aluminum which does not permit the large formaldehyde molecules to pass, even if formaldehyde were present.
