When installing vinyl flooring, it is required that a thin layer of plywood be applied over Ecowarm RadiantBoard. In locations where moisture will be present, a waterproof membrane isolation layer should be added. Tubing location s should be noted to prevent puncturing the tubing when the plywood is being screwed to the Ecowarm RadiantBoard. Most vinyl flooring is manufactured to an ASTM standard with an upper limit of floor surface temperatures of 85°F. The installation of a temperature limiting sensor can be installed in the Ecowarm RadiantBoard to avoid potential damage to the vinyl.
Note: New products that laminate vinyl to a substrate have come on the market but have not tested their products with radiant heat to date.
Ecowarm RadiantBoard shall be installed over a wooden subfloor, complying with “General Ecowarm RadiantBoard Installation Requirements for All Flooring Over Wood Subfloor”.
