Ecowarm RadiantBoard can be applied on the walls to overcome high heat loss areas near big windows or to provide wrap-around heat for a built-in shower…ultimate comfort.
The wall behind the Ecowarm RadiantBoard must be well insulated to assure minimum heat loss from the reverse side. Apply plywood to the wall and attach the Ecowarm RadiantBoard. Install the PEX tubing and nail guards over tubing in areas that might experience nailing. Apply either sheetrock or, in the case of a shower, a poly vapor barrier, then backer board for the tile. A crack isolation/waterproofing membrane over the backer board is an ideal assembly for a bathroom. Keep in mind that the walls will produce much more heat than a typical floor assembly, so separate water temperature control may be called for. The mechanical installer must be sure that air can be eliminated from the wall section radiant tubing.
